Dr. Jennifer Luna-Repose was born and raised in the Bay Area. She graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 1999 with a Bachelor’s in Biology and received her Veterinary Degree in 2006 from Cornell University in New York. In 2006 She returned to California, completing a medical internship at Bay Area Veterinary Specialists. She soon realized there was so much more she could offer her patients if she thought outside the box and expanded her treatment modalities to include acupuncture and herbal medicine.
Dr. Jen received her acupuncture and Chinese herbal training from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) and the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapy. She became certified in acupuncture through the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture in 2018. She completed the Functional Herbal Therapy Course through the Society of Wellness Nutritional Systems in 2019.
Prior to 2002, Dr. Jen worked as a licensed veterinary technician and studied animal behavior in their natural habitat in various countries around the world. At age 19, Dr. Jen went on a trip to Borneo to rehabilitate orphaned or reclaimed orangutans back into the wild with world renowned primatologist, Dr. Birute Galdikas. Dr. Jen also went on a 2-month backpacking adventure in the Chilean Andes to research the elusive and endangered Huemul deer.
Dr. Jen shares a close connection to the natural environment and all the plants and animals that inhabit it. She enjoys meditation, gardening, hiking and exploring energy medicine such as reiki and working with crystals.
She lives in Lafayette with her wife, Pat, and their 2 dogs Elliott and Cloud and their cat Seth!
